Ruben Dagdagan is ZGlobal’s Real-Time Supervisor. Ruben has over twenty years of experience in plant operation and seven years in the energy industry with ZGlobal. Ruben works closely with developers and load-serving entities, and power and gas marketers to manage clients generating assets and forecasted load. He supervises the Real-Time Energy scheduling group to ensure that a variety of generators (solar, wind, natural gas, biogas, hydro, geothermal, and hybrid and co-located energy storage/solar resources) schedules and bids are updated for submission into the CAISO market and Western Interconnection. Ruben also provides quality control for schedules that are submitted to the ERCOT market. Ruben engages in all real-time scheduling activities with counterparties, assisting in the development of scheduling strategies to provide error-free scheduling services that comport to clients’ power purchase agreements or merchant strategies designed to realize revenue commensurate with clients’ risk appetites. He ensures that real-time schedulers comprehend and implement all bidding strategies in a timely manner. He provides operational input in support of developing operating procedures consistent with provisions spelled out in power purchase agreements and transaction confirmations.
Ruben runs dispatch models and provides operational reviews for various reports and end-of-day summaries for the operations center. Ruben also provides general business and technical expertise in support of the administration, reporting, and scheduling of wholesale power transactions; relaying pertinent information from the scheduling environment to the market analytics group to stay current with gas/power scheduling practices. He is responsible for training and overseeing the onboarding of new real-time Energy Scheduling employees.
